Tom Noseworthy
Tom Noseworthy is Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Health
Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Oral Health Sciences, University of
Alberta. He is an internist and a practising critical care physician.
He served as a member of the Prime Minister’s National Forum on Health,
in which he was a member of the Evidence-Based Decision Making and Striking
the Balance Working Groups, and Chair of the Steering Committee. He currently
chairs the Senior Reference Committee of alberta wellNet, the Province’s
Health Information System, and is Co-Chair of the Advisory Council to
the Minister of Health for Canada Health Info-Structure.
John Dossetor
Director and Vice-Chair, Provincial Health Ethics Network
Dr. Dossetor is Professor Emeritus at the University of Alberta and the
first Chair of Bioethics, Faculty of Medicine. He was the founding director
of the Joint-Faculties Bioethics Project at the University of Alberta.
In 1995, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada for his achievements
in the fields of Medicine and Bioethics.
Jan Storch
Director, School of Nursing, University of Victoria
Jan Storch is a founding member of the Provincial Health Ethics Network
and the John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre. She has been a consultant
to numerous ethics committees in both British Columbia and Alberta. She
is currently a member of several Victoria-area ethics committees, a member
of the B.C. Health Ministry's Advisory Committee on Ethical Issues, and
a member of the Planning Committee for the Regional Ethics Committee in
the Capital Health Region - Victoria.
Paul Byrne
Co-Director, John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre, Univ. of Alberta
Paul Byrne is a Neonatologist and presently chairs the University of Alberta
Hospital Ethics Committee. He is also a member of the Capital Health Ethics
Coordinating Council.
Camille Wolfe
Manager , Continuous Quality Improvement, Grey Nuns Hospital & Health
Centre
Camille Wolfe is the Chair of the Bioethics Consultative Team at the Grey
Nuns Community Hospital and Health Centre, and a member of the Caritas
Health Group Ethics Committee.
James Strachan
Manager, Pastoral Care Services, Calgary Regional Health Authority
James Strachan has been a hospital chaplain and educator for 27 years.
He has been involved with ethics committees for 10 years, and has been
with the Foothills Hospital Ethics Committee for 8 years.
